What is regenerative medicine?
Regenerative medicine is the medical field that encompasses all means of tissue regeneration; its treatment methods are also used in aesthetic medicine.
Our body works through biofeedback connections that integrate all our organs with our central command systems, the brain and the heart.
Natural biofeedback loops are affected by ageing, lifestyle, trauma, causing the organs that are connected to them to become dysfunctional.
For example, sagging skin, loss of facial volume and hair loss are the consequences of this disconnection.
What is REYU and what role does it play in regenerative medicine?
REYU is one of the specific regenerative medicine therapies available in SKINMED®, which prescribes the application of microcurrents to restore biofeedback loops and restore body functions affected by ageing.
Naturally restoring skin and facial shape with REYU is a great way to start your anti-aging journey that leads to long-lasting rejuvenation.
With this therapy, you create a healthy foundation for your tissues, which is useful if you are considering surgery and injectable treatments, but also if you want to avoid them.
This therapy is non-invasive, pain-free and without recovery time. Many patients experience a feeling of relaxation and well-being during the treatment and afterwards.
More information on how REYU works can be found on the page dedicated to this technology.

What is the procedure? How does it work?
To achieve a regenerative stimulation of the natural biofeedback loops, an external closed loop is created.
First, the patient is placed in a comfortable position, the face is cleansed with micellar water.
In the first phase of treatment:
the skin surface is infiltrated with electrolytes to ensure proper electrical stimulation.
In the second phase of treatment:
a cable is placed in the cervical region through an adhesive electrode. The second cable is connected to a pen that is worked into the skin following a well-established protocol, thus closing the loop.
At the end of treatment:
The face is cleansed, and then a cream/serum is applied, depending on the patient's need, as well as a probiotic spray.

How does the procedure work?
The skin is prepared with a mild cleanser. In the first phase of treatment: the surface of the skin is infiltrated with electrolytes in order to ensure proper electrical stimulation.
In the second phase of treatment: a cable is placed in the cervical region through an adhesive electrode. The second cable is connected to a pen which is used to work on the skin, following a well-established protocol, thus closing the loop.
At the end of treatment: the face is cleansed and then a cream/serum is applied, depending on the patient's need, as well as a probiotic spray.
What happens immediately after the procedure?
You will be able to continue your routine after treatment, you may have a little redness, although this will disappear in a few hours. Due to the nature of the procedure, you can resume activities immediately and there is no need to avoid make-up.
How many sessions are needed?
A good frequency is one session every two weeks to initiate biological regeneration. After an initial period of 4 to 6 sessions in a few weeks, a session every 6 months or even once a year will allow us to keep up with further ageing.
Younger candidates may need 4 sessions, while older patients may need 6 to 8 sessions.
What is the recovery period?
There is no recovery time. Due to the nature of the procedure, you can resume activities immediately and there is no need to avoid make-up.
What side effects are possible?
- slight dizziness during the procedure and for 1-2 hours post-procedure
- metallic taste during the procedure.
