Juvederm Volite

Revolutionary rejuvenating treatment with hyaluronic acid

Juvederm Volite is the new innovative injectable treatment for skin quality with a lifting effect. It uses long-term moisturising hyaluronic acid from Allergan's Vycross technology, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical manufacturers.

What is Juvederm Volite?

Juvederm Volite has been specially created to deeply moisturise the skin, giving it elasticity and softness. It works by increasing the density of the epidermal layers, increasing the thickness of the skin integument and deeply moisturising the skin. The immediate effect is freshness and rejuvenation that lasts for a long time. As a result of Vycross technology, Juvederm Volite treatment has a lifting effect.

Benefits of Juvederm Volite

Lasting natural look:

A single procedure corrects fine wrinkles and deeply hydrates the skin, preserving its natural elasticity for 9 months.

Quick visible results:

Juvederm Volite acts as a skin booster, being injected more superficially than other fillets. Results are sometimes visible immediately after injection, and are maintained for a long time.

Comfort during the procedure:

Volite injection is performed with a very fine needle from a new generation of medical devices, guaranteeing patient comfort but also considerably reducing the risk of haematomas. The lidocaine content of the Juvederm formula also contributes to a high degree of comfort by instantly anaesthetising the injected area.

Very short recovery period:

The procedure is minimally invasive.

How does Juvederm Volite work?

The injected substance acts by increasing the density of the epidermal layers, deeply moisturising the skin. It has an immediate, long-lasting, refreshing and rejuvenating effect.

Filling fine wrinkles by diffusing the substance is also essential. Hyaluronic acid is found in many skin moisturisers, but the substances in the Juvederm range are the only ones that help replenish hyaluronic acid in the epidermal layers, restoring the skin's natural elasticity, firmness and tone.

Frequently asked questions

What is Juvederm Volite?

Juvederm Volite is an innovative injectable treatment from the Allergan Juvederm range, designed to improve the appearance of the skin for up to 9 months.

It is a hyaluronic acid gel that improves skin texture, reduces fine lines and restores moisture and elasticity to the skin, all in one treatment. It can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage area and even the hands.

In SKINMED®, we use Juvederm Volite both as a filler, in addition to other products in the Juvederm range, but also as a treatment to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines and restore skin hydration, even for younger patients who want a brighter skin appearance.

How does Juvederm Volite work?

Juvederm Volite is a new, innovative product with natural and long-lasting effects obtained after just one session. It can be used on its own, or as a precursor to other injectable treatments in the Juvederm range and helps protect the skin against the effects of free radicals.

Juvederm Volite acts on several levels. The presence of the filler has a slight plumping effect, and over the weeks post-treatment, the skin will become more beautiful and radiant, with improved fine lines and shrinking pores.

Juvederm Volite falls into the category of dermal fillers, although it has a more important effect in improving the appearance of the skin than in restoring lost volume.

What are the results?

Results are visible after 1-2 weeks, with patients benefiting from brighter, firmer skin with less visible fine lines and surface wrinkles.

As part of the natural physiological ageing process, the skin becomes thinner and the amount of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases. This process can be slowed down by restoring skin quality and texture with Juvederm Volite.

What are the benefits of Juvederm Volite over other skin care products?

Moisturisers create an artificial layer on the skin that can temporarily moisturise the top layer of the skin, but cannot penetrate the deeper layers to provide major improvements.

The benefits of home care products containing hyaluronic acid are also limited: hyaluronic acid is absorbed in very small amounts, sometimes not at all.

Is Juvederm Volite treatment painful?

The degree of discomfort is significantly reduced by the use of very fine needles and thanks to lidocaine, the anaesthetic substance present in Juvederm Volite. A local anaesthetic cream is also applied before the procedure.

Why is Juvederm Volite different from other fillets?

Juvederm Volite acts as a skin booster, being injected more superficially than other fillers, with results visible quickly, sometimes immediately after injection, and lasting for a long time.

Which skin type is Juvederm Volite for?

Juvederm Volite is an injectable treatment that improves texture and moisturises the skin, suitable for all skin types, for patients who notice a decline in skin quality, for people with photoageing or for perimenopausal women.

The treatment contains 12 mg/ml crosslinked hyaluronic acid and 0.3% lidocaine. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin and is a hydrophilic substance that helps to hydrate cells by absorbing water. Hyaluronic acid production in the integument starts to decline from the age of 27: the skin becomes dehydrated, loses its brightness, fine lines and superficial wrinkles appear.

How is Juvederm Volite injected?

Juvederm Volite is the only product that works for up to 9 months after a single injection, with an immediate visible effect. Juvederm Volite injections are performed with a very fine needle from a new generation of medical devices, which guarantees comfort during the procedure, but also considerably reduces the risk of haematomas.

The revolutionary effect of this hyaluronic acid is also due to the lidocaine content found in the Juvederm Volite formula, which helps to ensure a high degree of comfort during injection, as it produces instant anaesthesia of the area.

The procedure is minimally invasive with a very short recovery period.

How does Juvederm Volite work?

Juvederm Volite is injected into the deep dermis, the lower layer of the skin, and stimulates fibroblasts, the cells in the dermis that produce collagen and elastin. Thus, the effect is to improve skin elasticity and firmness. Hyaluronic acid also has the property of drawing water into the cells, improving tissue hydration, a process that takes place in the weeks after treatment.

How many Juvederm Volite treatments are needed to see results?

Patients generally choose to have one treatment session and return annually to maintain results.

According to clinical studies, 91% of patients were satisfied with the results after a single treatment session, and 96% noticed a smoother, firmer appearance to their cheekbones, with these results still visible after 6 months.

In the case of very dehydrated skin, either due to photoageing or hormonal changes, the treatment can be repeated at shorter intervals.

Who should not be treated with Juvederm Volite?

Treatment is not recommended for people with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, pregnant or breastfeeding women and people with a history of bleeding disorders.

It is also avoided in case of an active infection or less than a month after a laser rejuvenation procedure.

Are there any side effects and adverse reactions?

Because of the multiple injections to the treated area, the skin may be red for 24-48 hours after the procedure.

In some cases, small bruising, ecchymosis, may occur at the injection site after 12-24 hours, especially in people using anticoagulant medication, anti-inflammatories, fish oil or turmeric supplements. However, these are small, disappear in 7-10 days and can easily be covered with make-up products.

Rarely, allergy to hyaluronic acid or anaesthetic cream may occur. There is also a minimal risk of infection from multiple punctures, which can be treated with antibiotics.
